Can you believe how much the internet design business has changed in just over 10 years? Not only do we have what people call Web 2.0 - a new generation of web apps and web services - but the web design industry has been totally turned on its head (some may say killed!) by the ever increasing number of free website design templates. Anyway as you know, anything that is free and can contribute to my $1 a minute income, i ‘invest’ in ;)

This post isnt going to drag on and on about free website design templates. If it did i would probably get a load of unwelcome search engine traffic (seriously). You WILL find reviews and product updates on other free web design stuff on other pages. This post is about ‘Open Source Web Design’ available as www.oswd.org

To put it simply, Open Source Web Design is a collection of web designs submitted by the community that anyone can download free of charge!

The Open Source Web Design project was founded in September, 2000 by Francis J. Skettino. The goal was to provide the Open Source community with quality web designs to help get people’s projects on the web in a way that is both organized and good looking. From personal blogs to content managements systems to full fledged businesses, OSWD has been providing free web designs to those who need them for years. Go check them out here
